Hola! I am totally “out of integrity” as they say in Landmark as I did not honor my word and post 3x’s per week in the last two weeks. If I had maybe made a quick post saying so, they I would be alright but, I didn’t even take the time to do that. So, forgive me and holla if there is any impact I need to deal with. (Gosh I love landmark shit for keeping me accountable and able to release guilt!)
I assume there isn’t an impact and perhaps you wanna know why the sudden drop off from most social media and my blog. Wellllllll – BIG CHANGES! So, for the last maybe 12 years I have lived with many different people. Generally I have had at least 3 roommates and in some cases up to 6, like recently. I just love living communally with lots of people. Two of my roomies and my girl Paige are pictured to the left. Sometimes we had great brunches! I miss my lil bro Rod and Brooke (and brooke’s cooking!). And I miss my girl Nicole – to the right at her last bday party. They have all supported my music and life in SO many ways. Just love them….But, they are not far and now we have to plan dates!
Sharing space, food, time, etc. has always been a joy for me, more than it has been a struggle. But, everyone in my house was getting a bit antsy. So, one roommate declared she wanted to move out and another followed so we all decided to move out at the same time, with no hard feelings at all and a bit of sadness. (My lil bro rod pictured again with me up to right). However, I own this house with my boyfriend and Nicole and given we could save a lot of money, my man and I decided to give it a go and live together, finally! This house is rather enormous for 2 people but, we are both entrepreneurs so we made an extra office/dance studio, so that the studio can really JUST be music making and then we have an extra bedroom, which is great given we ALWAYS have people in from out of town or someone crashing for a few days.
So, my cat Zion was loosing his new little sister Meow and I felt kinda bad. My boy and I share a favorite dog, the Samoyed, so we discussed trying to get one. But, then we decided on another cat. As the move approached, he told me he started looking into Samoyed breeders anyway and only found one dog that was almost 6mnths old. We wanted a new puppy. So, I got excited and said I would look. I soon found no one had puppies but the same breeder with the 5 or 6mnth old was calling me. I thought it was kinda synchronistic given we both found the same dog and it was the ONLY one! I saw a picture and he still seemed young. I talked to the breeder who lives in Cleveland and he “just so happened” to be coming to a dog show in Pgh and also told me the whole story about why he wasn’t adopted. The mother died just before birth and some of the buyers got scared. So, not only would we get a good price, but the pup and I shared a loss of mother early on. It seemed like fate. My boyfriend and I decided that if we saw him, we would know. He jumped out of the van at the dog show and the rest is history. We are in love with our little man. He is a handful but very chill at the same time and so very worth it! His name is Jamin (it is spanish as my Colombian/Afghani boyfriend wanted to keep the namesake of Samoyeds he knew when he was young/with an accent on the i – sounds like “Jameen”….he is either Jamin Tres Maize or Jamin Quatro Maize…we aren’t certain how many Jamin’s my BF actually knew when he was young, lol).
So I lost some amazing roommates that I love but, with the dog and cat and boyfriend, the house still feels full. In our first weekend, we had tons of family come to meet for the first time! I let his neice and nephew record some songs….tooooo cute!
After we get a little more settled, I will be back to blogging, promise!
SPRING ALWAYS BRINGS ABOUT NEW GROWTH. THIS HAS ALL GIVEN ME MUCH TO WRITE ABOUT!
